Barry Bonds Homers in Loss to Padres

by @ 9:22 am. Filed under 2007 Giants

Okay, so this isn’t all that great of a start.  Matt Cain was given a lead but he eventually gave it up.  The Giants came back but the pen couldn’t get it done and the end result was a 5-3 loss.

The Giants scattered seven hits and they were all by different Giants.  Dave Roberts triple and scored and Barry Bonds hit a solo shot to put the Giants on the board.

On the mound, Matt Cain was solid through six but like I said earlier, the pen gave up the lead.  Cain struck out six in six innings and he gave up five hits and a walk.

The rubber game is tonight.  Matt Morris will be on the mound to try to make sure the Giants don’t get swept.
